WHO IS THIS VISA FOR
This visa entitles international students to study English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) in Australia.
After doing your ELICOS you become eligible to study in courses that lead to
- a certificate I, II, III or IV
- courses that result in no formal Australian award.
WHAT THIS VISA WILL LET YOU DO
With this visa:
- you can study in Australia
- eligible dependant family members can accompany you to Australia
- work up to 20 hours per week while your course is in session and unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks.
- your family members can work up to 20 hours per week provided you have commenced your course of study in Australia.
BASIC CRITERIA TO SATISFY
- you are enrolled in a registered course
- you have adequate English language ability
- you have the financial means tosupport yourself
- you have appropriate overseas student health insurance cover during your stay in Australia
