International study leads Indian student to new home

Mr Sudipto Bhattacharya from Varanasi in India graduated from Australia’s Charles Sturt University in 2009 with a Masters of Information Technology (IT). He spent about two years as a student, living and studying at Charles Sturt University in the regional Australian city of Wagga Wagga. With his young family, Mr Bhattacharya now calls the city of Wagga Wagga home after securing local employment as an IT professional. He recently reflected on his time as a university student in Australia. CSU News, 27 November 2009

New course caters for international nursing students

Australia predicts drop in Indian students

Innovative university MoU to boost Aboriginal education links in regional NSW

The MoU between the University and the Wiradjuri Condoblin Corporation will be signed on Tuesday, January 19 with official proceedings to start at 11.30am. Four years of discussions between the organisations will culminate in this landmark MoU, said Vice-Chancellor and President of CSU, Professor Ian Goulter. ‘This MoU will be a valuable model for Aboriginal people’s participation in education.’ CSU News, 14 January 2010

New ANU Chancellor wins freedom award

ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Chubb has congratulated the University’s new Chancellor Gareth Evans on being named winner of the international 2010 Freedom from Fear Medal. The international prize is awarded every two years by the Roosevelt Stichting in the Netherlands, a private foundation allied with the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute in New York. Previous recipients of Roosevelt medals include Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy and Terry Waite. ANU News, 14 January 2010
