Bond University building wins international sustainability award

The Minister for Education, Julia Gillard, has congratulated Bond University for winning a major international Sustainability Award in London over the weekend. Bond University has been recognised on the world stage as a leader in sustainable design. DEEWR Media release, 18 October 2009


French-Australian agreement offers new study and internship opportunities for students

An agreement has been signed between French and Australian universities in Canberra that allows for mutual recognition of each country’s educational qualifications and periods of prior study. Universities Australia, together with the French Conference of University Presidents and the French Engineering Schools Directors’ Committee have established a framework whereby students who have undertaken secondary school or university studies in Australia or France can apply to study at universities in either country, with equivalent standing to local students. The survey is part of a global survey that includes the UK/JISC, US and Canada. The final report on the survey results will be publicly available.


UQ welcomes Confucius on-campus

The University of Queensland formalised arrangements to establish a Confucius Institute in partnership with Tianjin University. UQ Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Greenfield and Chairman of the Tianjin University Administrative Council Professor Liu Jianping signed the Confucius Institute Agreement on behalf of their respective universities at UQ’s St Lucia Campus.
