Countries agree on students

India has backed measures taken in Australia to protect Indian students, says Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard. After her ‘warm and constructive’ 45-minute meeting with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Tuesday, she told The Age that, despite the recent media storm in India surrounding attacks on Indian students, Dr Singh was ‘very approving’ of Australia’s efforts.
