Indigenous researchers to benefit under new funding rules
The Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, announced additional opportunities for Indigenous researchers under reforms made to the Discovery Indigenous Researchers Development scheme. ‘Indigenous researchers form an intrinsic part of the Australian research community and strengthen the diversity of Australia’s research capacity and capabilities through their unique experiences, skills and knowledge.’ Senator Carr said. Australian to USA Applications – American Australian Association
The American Australian Association awards individual Fellowships for advanced study in the United States of up to US$25,000 each year. The Fellowships build on existing strong social and economic partnerships and foster intellectual exchange between the United States and Australia. Fellowships are named Sir Keith Murdoch Fellows after the Association’s principal Founder. Applications close 15 April 2009.
Rainbow guide lightens orientation load
The Rainbow Guide is a free online orientation and pre-arrival handbook that institutions can download and customise with their own branding. The DEEWR -funded resource is a synthesis of orientation best practice to help professionals give students a comprehensive orientation to their institution and life in Australia.
