Announcing the Digging into Data Challenge

The Digging into Data Challenge is an international grant competition sponsored by four leading research agencies, the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) from the United Kingdom, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) from the United States, the National Science Foundation (NSF) from the United States, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) from Canada.


Teachers in training take lessons in virtual classrooms

The latest job being added to the ‘working from home’ list is teacher intern. After seven weeks in the virtual internships, students will spend seven weeks in a traditional classroom so they have both experiences. That will give students flexibility with traditional teaching jobs in Florida, which lately are harder to come by, and with Florida Virtual Schools. Tampa Bay Online, 19 January 2009
