By making more content available to more students, open content learning could change the face of higher education in Europe forever. Universities in Europe are looking to embrace a new form of learning, called open content, which could blow away the division between university students and the rest of the population. January 27th, 2009Spotlight on ‘Generation Y’ – new study launched
January 23rd, 2009The British Library and JISC launched a ground-breaking three-year study into the study and research behaviour of ‘Generation Y’ scholars, namely those born between 1982 and 1994. It will analyse the young researchers’ habits in online and physical libraries and research environments. The subjects will be doctoral students who began their PhD programme in the academic year 2008/09.
2009 ARIA-Canberra award for research collaboration
January 23rd, 2009The Award has the financial support of the Chief Minister’s Department of the ACT Government and the Australian Academy of Science, and of FEAST (Forum for European-Australian Science and Technology cooperation). It is endorsed by the Scientific Office of the Embassy of Italy in Canberra, and PIAR (Publications for Italian and Australian Researchers). Applications due 1 March 2009.
Government receives report on broadband plan
